Chapter 2 received negative reviews for major changes, is it still worth participating in Pixels?

After much anticipation and delay, the second chapter of Pixels was officially launched this morning. As the blockchain game with the most daily active users in the Ron ecosystem, when the news of the second chapter was released, the domestic and overseas communities instantly became lively, discussing the latest gold farming strategies to win at the starting line. However, as users continue to experience it, the community atmosphere is full of resentment:
-
The design is a bit inhuman. The task board is at home, but you have to run out to the store to buy things. How can you play with people?
-
Originally, the more levels of materials, the more space they would occupy in the backpack, but each space has been changed to hold a maximum of 99 items. My backpack is full without me doing anything. How can I play? Do I have to keep running around?
-
Except for cotton, the other materials that were directly stockpiled are almost gone, and those who stockpile goods are losing money.
-
I spent a lot of gold coins to clear the task board, but the rewards were only 0.2 or 0.25 coins. Why are the rewards getting smaller and smaller? Didnt they say that a lot of machine numbers were cleared?
-
…
Although the team repeatedly emphasized in AMA that a lot of effort was put into the second chapter, judging from the current community feedback, most real players are very dissatisfied, the game has been greatly changed and the benefits are small. Below, Odaily Planet Daily analyzes the second chapter of Pixels based on practical experience, community feedback, etc.
Introduction

Pixels is a 2021 metaverse farming game that recreates the atmosphere of classic 16-bit role-playing adventures, allowing players to navigate a pixel art world, interact with each other, cultivate the land, play mini-games, and earn token rewards. It also allows holders of select NFT Profile Picture (PFP) collections to use their owned avatars in the game.
In terms of financing, Pixels has completed secondary financing, namely:
-
On February 11, 2022, it announced the completion of a US$2.4 million seed round of financing , led by Animoca Brands and PKO Investments, with participation from OpenSea, Untapped Capital and Leonis Capital;
-
On February 8, 2024, it announced the completion of a US$4.8 million strategic round of financing .
In addition, Pixels has been launched on Binance for mining at 08:00 (UTC+ 8) on February 9, 2024, which will last for 10 days, and will be available for trading at 18:00 (UTC+ 8) on February 19, 2024.
Chapter 2 Summary of Changes
Big change 1: New skills merged with existing skills
Stoneshaping and Metalworking have been added to the skills, the upgrade curve has been adjusted, and the experience points between levels have been changed. In addition, multiple skills in the first chapter have been merged, namely: Farming, Forestry, Cooking, Mining, Woodwork, Animal Care, Business, and Exploration.

Big Change 2: The quest board is moved to the player’s own Speck
After entering My Speck, enter the main room shown in the picture below and click Infinifunnel to view the task board
According to community feedback, the token rewards in the mission board are significantly less than those in Chapter 1, and there are multiple instances of Pixels token rewards with decimal points such as 0.2, 0.25, and 0.5.

Big Change 3: Both Speck and the main room can be upgraded (initially upgrades cost coins, then cost Pixels tokens)
Speck upgrade: After clicking Home in Speck, click Upgrade to upgrade;
Main room upgrade: After entering the room, click House Manager and then click Upgrade to upgrade.
Big change 4: The time to plant crops is greatly reduced and only one person can plant on each piece of land at the same time. Trees can be purchased from the store and planted on Speck, and the planting time is greatly reduced.
On the one hand, as shown, each piece of land can only be planted by one person at a time. And, it is worth noting that the corresponding skill level must be met to plant the corresponding plants (see the table below for the corresponding relationship).
On the other hand, as shown in the image below, trees are no longer rare, and can be purchased from the store and planted on Speck, and the planting time is greatly reduced.
In addition, the backpack has been increased to 12 slots, the upper limit of a single slot has been reduced to 99, and energy can be restored by sleeping in the main room.

Team Feedback
With the major upgrade of the second chapter, domestic and foreign communities have released various complaints on social media. Luke, the founder of Pixels, posted on the X platform that the feedback on the rapid energy consumption and too few token rewards has been recorded, and the second chapter hopes that real users will get more rewards. Therefore, the team is willing to try to update the version tomorrow to change the token rewards, and continue to adjust in the next few weeks to ensure the benefits of real users.

summary
In general, the long-awaited Chapter 2 not only did not bring any new gameplay innovations, but also did not bring as much revenue as Chapter 1. The server congestion also shows that the current enthusiasm of users who continue to experience Chapter 2 is not high enough (there are only 8 crowded channels).
Server congestion
While founder Luke promised to ensure real user benefits in multiple AMAs, despite banning many robots, real user benefits have not increased but decreased. At the same time, the guild fragments that the team has always emphasized have not brought more benefits to players, which is indeed disappointing to loyal players. The only consolation is that the team responded quickly and positively to the negative feedback from the community and expressed their willingness to make immediate improvements and continuous optimization. So, are you looking forward to the teams subsequent updates to Chapter 2?

In Brief Polygon price is currently stuck in consolidation, heading towards the resistance level at $0.746. MATIC holders are exhibiting signs of potential accumulation, which has historically resulted in rallies. Only 33% of the Polygon native token’s supply is in profits, making it eligible for considerable gains. Polygon (MATIC) price awaits strong bullish cues that could propel the altcoin out of the consolidation it is currently stuck in. Given that the altcoin is among the lowest profit-bearing assets, it is likely that investors will push for a price rise to book profits. Polygon Investors Hint at Accumulation MATIC price could see a breakout above the $0.74 barrier if only investors act accordingly. As long as these MATIC holders refrain from selling, consolidation could continue, and accumulation could enable an upswing. This is the likely outcome for MATIC’s…
