Ondo Finance was founded in 2021 and initially focused on the Laas (liquidity services) track. However, as the market entered a bear market, the DeFi market value and on-chain liquidity shrank, causing the project to encounter bottlenecks in its development, and it subsequently transitioned to the RWA track in January 2023.

Before the transformation, Ondo Finance issued the ONDO token and sold it publicly on Coinlist, but the token was locked for one year after purchase. The token can be used as the governance voting quota of Flux Finance.

This round of unlocking for ONDO is aimed at three categories of objects, including 825 million tokens (US$1.04 billion) for protocol development, 790 million tokens (US$1 billion) for ecosystem growth, and 320 million tokens (US$400 million) for private placement.
