Roam launches Discovery Ecosystem cooperation platform, announcing the first batch of 20 projects to jointly promote the
On December 25, the DePIN project Roam officially launched the Roam Discovery Ecosystem. This innovative platform aims to help Roam users obtain more co-construction benefits by co-building a network with ecological partners and jointly promote the large-scale implementation of Web3 applications.
Roam, the worlds largest DePIN network portal
Currently, Roam has more than 1.7 million registered users worldwide, more than 1 million self-built WiFi nodes, and supports 3.5 million OpenRoamingTM nodes. This is an open wireless network that covers more than 200 countries and regions around the world and is still expanding. Through Roam Discovery, mature cooperation projects will be deeply bound to the Roam decentralized wireless network ecosystem, using WiFi nodes as the entrance, and conducting ecological cooperation around a series of methods such as node value and user agreements. On the other hand, Roam Discovery will also provide innovative start-up project partners with a complete set of underlying software tools based on the Roam ecosystem, WiFi node support around the world, and a large global user group, grants and community resources, so as to help new projects complete early construction and continuously promote the development of the entire ecosystem.
As a brand-new and groundbreaking ecosystem, Roam Discovery can be broken down into a three-layer architecture, leveraging the world鈥檚 largest decentralized wireless network to support ecosystem projects and drive innovation. It consists of four core components:
-
The bottom layer – Roam Physical L1: Create a physical hardware L1 based on the Roam router.
-
Middle layer – Proof of Presence protocol and WiFi node stack (Roam OS): Provide cooperation samples and a complete set of mature development tools for ecological projects.
-
Application layer: Through the combination of user samples and distributed networks, promote innovation and user participation within the Roam ecosystem, and incentivize and support the development of new projects.
Through these four core components, Roam Discovery provides a complete set of bottom-up data services and technical support to partners at different stages of the project, providing users with more diversified revenue channels.
In addition, Roam Discovery will also help innovative new projects complete early construction through community support. Users can support various ecosystem innovation projects by staking $ROAM tokens, helping project parties to complete the co-construction of the Roam ecosystem while attracting more new users to join the Roam network. The Roam Foundation will provide grant incentives to cooperative projects at a 1:1 ratio based on the amount of $ROAM staked by users to help them complete early construction.
The first batch of 20 ecological partners went online
This time, 20 ecological cooperation projects were launched simultaneously with Roam Discovery. These projects come from multiple fields such as Layer 1, PayFi and AI. Each project plays a role in promoting key innovation in its field. Among them are:
-
Infrastructure: IoTeX, providing DePIN modular infrastructure for everyone.
-
PayFi projects: Huma Finance and PolyFlow, promoting decentralized finance and AI-driven payment systems.
-
Decentralized data solution: Mind Network, providing secure and encrypted data generation.
Promote the large-scale application of Web3
In September 2024, Roam proposed to build the Physical L1 of the DePIN ecosystem to connect and share data between people, devices, assets, and AI. Three months later, the Discovery Ecosystem was launched and successfully cooperated with 20 industry-leading projects. It can be seen that these cooperative projects include both well-known projects in the industry and start-up projects. Through Roams open global wireless network, we will continue to promote project development and jointly promote the large-scale application of Web3.
When it comes to connecting Web2 and Web3 and promoting the large-scale adoption of Web3, Roam has been continuously delivering: in the past year, Roam has achieved more than 1 million registered users and self-built WiFi nodes. According to statistics from Solana Syndica research report, there were 670,000 new users in November, an increase of 4.6 times that of October, and the number of WiFi nodes has maintained an increase of 100,000 for three consecutive months since September.

In just less than a year, Roam has grown into a leading DePIN project with 1.7 million users and 1 million self-built nodes. Last week, Roam released its 2025 roadmap, which covers 11 major updates in products, technology, and community. Roam Discovery is one of them. With this steady and even early delivery development rhythm, I believe there is more to look forward to in the future.
