Hackathon Summary
Webfest 2024 is an exploratory hackathon on the theme of quantum computing and education. Hosted by CERN, the event attracted developers to participate in four registered challenges and provided a platform for both on-site and remote participation. Participants were divided into teams of five to collaborate on challenges in the fields of quantum computing, Kryptography, and simulation.
The event focuses on collaboration and innovation, bringing together global talent to solve complex technical problems. Teams compete in four different challenge tracks, and projects are evaluated by a panel of expert judges. The Hackathon ends with the best project in each track being recognized.
A notable move was the cash prizes sponsored by the DoraHacks NISQ Quantum Computing Grant awarded to the winning teams in the Lead Challenge track. This grant is intended to support further project development and research. Overall, Webfest 2024 fostered global collaboration and technological innovation, advanced the development of quantum computing, and brought participants an enriching experience through shared learning and creativity.
